About Sushma

Sushma is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over 10 years of clinical experience. She received her Master of Counseling in Mental Health Services from The University of Central Missouri in 2020. Sushma is a dedicated and compassionate professional who is equipped with broad-based experience in counseling, play therapy, and sand-tray therapy. Sushma has extensive experience working with children, adolescents and adults with emotional disturbances and mental health disorders. 

Sushma has worked successfully with issues including, but are not limited to: Trauma, depression, racial identity, anxiety, grief, substance use, domestic violence, couples, LGBTQ+, dual diagnosis, relationship issues, suicidal ideations, and family conflict. She offers an approach influenced by person-centered, conversational style, drawing upon gestalt, CBT, mindfulness, and childhood trauma work. Sushma finds it valuable to explore a person’s history and the root causes that may be contributing to their existing pain and suffering. 

Sushma views the counseling setting as a safe and non-judgmental space that will allow you to express yourself freely and get the most out of therapy. She is passionate about celebrating your self-identity and uniqueness to help you reach your goals. Sushma believes that once we understand and accept ourselves, true growth and healing can occur.
