About Destin

Destin Mays is the Founder and Clinical Director of Progressive Life Counseling, LLC. Destin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Destin believes that we all face difficult challenges in life, but no one should have to fight these battles alone. Destin is inspired to provide access to quality therapeutic services online, so that everyone has the opportunity to change their world for the better!

Destin has worked successfully in the capacity of Social Worker III, Therapist, Clinical Supervisor, Child Welfare Supervisor, and Executive Director, before launching Progressive Life Counseling, LLC in 2018. Destin graduated with a Master of Social Work from Southern Illinois University of Carbondale in 2009. Destin was awarded membership to the Academy of Certified Social Workers in 2016, endorsing that he has achieved the highest standard of practice through education, training, experience, and ethical competencies. 

Destin believes that true leadership is proven by transparency, cultural competence, integrity, learning from one's mistakes, and being each team member’s biggest fan! Destin takes pride in having a platform that represents diversity, honors equity, and promotes inclusion. Destin’s greatest satisfaction is being able to say, “We’re one big family saving lives together!”
